David L. Simon
Founder & President


David L. Simon is a uniquely accomplished executive with a vast entertainment and media career in the U.S. and around the globe.  He is recognized for his distinctive team building management style, a result of his hands-on experience in content development, production, marketing, distribution and finance for the industry's most prestigious corporate brands.  His experience with entertainment leaders such as Barry Diller, Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Rupert Murdoch and Steven Spielberg had a profound affect on his career.
 

He served as program director at several major market television stations until he was appointed Vice President of Programming and Production for the start-up Fox Television Stations, where he was instrumental in transforming the Fox station group and participated in the development of America's Most Wanted, Cops and Comic Strip Live.

The Walt Disney Company recruited Simon to establish and run its first international television production company based in London.   During his ten year term he assembled a highly respected team of indigenous production executives and established offices in Paris, Rome, Munich, Madrid, Tokyo and Hong Kong, resulting in the production of 45 weekly series in 40 countries.  He launched and supervised the first international Disney Channels in Taiwan, Great Britain, Australia and France, served as Chairman of the Board of Super RTL in Germany and on the Board of Directors of GMTV in the United Kingdom.  

Returning to the U.S. in 1997 as Head of DreamWorks Television Animation Studio, he was responsible for the development and production of original television animation, including:  Steven Spielberg Presents: Toonsylvania for Fox Kids Network and the Emmy Award winner Invasion America for The WB primetime.  He also served as creative executive on the Joseph - King of Dreams, the direct-to-video sequel to Prince of Egypt.


In 2000 he formed Simon Bros. Media to lend his knowledge and proficiency in identifying opportunities for development and production.  His clientele included Premiere pay television platform in Germany; RAI International in Italy; The Box  in Israel; Literacy & Language Dynamics; Assorted Nuts Animation Studio in Sweden; Stan Rogow Productions; Noodlesoup Productions; Berliner Film Companie in Germany; Cinar Corporation in Montreal; 20th Television; Sony International Television, Carsey Werner Production and Grant Naylor Productions in the UK .

 
Simon served as an expert witness in high profile legal actions, as well as providing advisory and consultation services for law firms in litigation, mergers, acquisitions and intellectual property.  He also opines for investors on acquisitions and investments offering analysis, research and valuation.   

He is on the board of directors of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Los Angeles and is co-chair of its Television Committee.  He served on the executive committee and board of governors of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and as president of the National Association of Television Program Executives.  Simon devotes significant amount of personal time as a mentor.   

Simon is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.   He is a dual national of the United States and the United Kingdom.
